Come join us for a special evening of creativity... We're thrift flipping but with a twist.
This is a special one-off workshop in collaboration with Envirohub BOP Sustainable Textiles programme.
Slow sewing, op-shopping and up-cycling go hand in hand when it comes to a more sustainabble wardrobe and less textile waste in landfill. On this occasion, instead of going out to find something in the op shop to transform into something new, we are encouraging you to shop the back of your wardrobe instead. YES you have your very own thrift store right under your nose.
What can you find back there?
Something that you use to love but needs a refashion?
Something that no longer fits?
Something you got from an op shop years ago but never wear for some reason.
Bring a couple of items and your ideas to flip them into something new, and over the evening together you can learn some alteration techniques, dabble in some creative play to see what we can transform things into for a new life.
Sewing machines, tools, thread & some trims/fabrics provided.
Time: Wednesday 24th June 6:00-9:00 pm
Location: Creative Community Campus, 17th Ave, Tauranga.
Looking forward to helping you with wardrobe transformation sewing!
